I Lost My Mobile Phone!

with one comment

Yup. That’s right. I lost my mobile phone… again. This is the 2nd time since I lost it in 2001. It was stolen the first time. But it’s a bit different this time round. I dropped my phone in the cinema after watching Ah Long Ptd Ltd.

However, the strange thing is, I don’t really feel terribly sad after losing it. I remembered clearly that the first time I lost it, I felt very bad and I got a bad scolding from my mum.

Why? I think the main reason is because the thief also can’t use my phone. So what  if I dropped my phone? You, the thief, although you got it for free, you also can’t fucking use it. Due to experience and knowing that there might be 0.01% chance that I may lost my phone again, I have done the necessary “precautions”.

I had my phone and sim locking feature activated. This means that if a person switches off my phone and on again, he need to key in password before he can use. SO HE FUCKING CAN’T USE MY PHONE!

So, even if he want to do anything funny to my sim card, such as calling those expensive chat-lines or call overseas before i deactivate my line, HE ALSO CAN’T  DO IT! I set a password for my sim card. So, if the thief inserted his sim card on his phone trying to make stupid calls, he will be asked for the sim password before he can switch on the phone.

In short, I have password protection for both phone and sim card. Double barriers.

That’s the reason why I don’t feel really sad. I feel sad for the thief instead. He thought that he can get a free phone, maybe to use or sell it.  BUT HE CAN’T.

I don’t know whether are there any unscrupulous mobile phone vendors who can help crack the password or not. But this means the thief also need “double” work to use my phone or sell it. And this cost money.

Alright maybe I lost my “huge” contacts. But it’s ok to me nowadays. I realized that many of contacts are so-call hi-bye friends where I may not call or sms them in the future. Maybe this helps to clear my list also. Haha. Anyway, many of my contacting friends are also in my MSN list. Not really a big problem in getting their numbers from them again.  :)

Bad Karma

without comments

Ok… It’s official. I need to buy a new laptop.

My old trusty lappie has been with me for the past 3.5 years. Yeah, after its 3 years warranty is over, its shelf life is up.  The LCD screen just black out on me.

I just went to Fujitsu service center in Funan today. You know what? If I wanted to go for servicing, it would cost me around $700 to fix the job. Duhz, it’s so fucking freaking expensive. I might as well get a new laptop!!??

This past 2 months have not been good for me. My websites got hacked and now I need to buy a new laptop. My pockets gonna burn deep holes.

I think it’s because of some bad karma! It’s must be the “bad” stuffs that I had done recently online. It’s coming to haunt me! Ha~

None the less, I will take things as it is. If God wants to test my perseverance, let it be. I will be more motivated than ever  and get back up!

Polymer Synthesis Quiz

without comments

Arrrrgh! I can’t stand an exam or quiz that is mostly memory intensive.

I came across this somewhere:

Some journalists asked Albert Einstein what is the speed of sound. He soundly said he don’t know the answer. The journalists were stunned! Albert was supposed to be the smartest scientist in the world. How can he not know such a simple answer? Albert coolly said, “I don’t memorize stuffs that can be found in the textbook.”

The story that I phrase above is not exactly the same that I read before, but somewhere along the line. You get what I mean?

Exactly! Why must we memorize stuffs that can be found ALL in the notes or textbook. I think it’s a total waste of time. Although I complain about it, I don’t have a solution for it. I bet all those ministers also can’t come out with a good solution. The education system has been the same after so many years.

Yeah, maybe injected some “creative” modules in some of the classes in primary, secondary or JC, but overall is still much the same. :(
